In search of soothing dreams,
And like the Lark that sings for All,
He swings on hopeful beams.
He lives amid a throng unknown,
Forsaking many smiles;
And yet the glint within his eye
Does many eyes beguile.

That bright moon is the place where my dreams are;
Flowers and love and joy born of true desire;
A smile on each dream, travelling afar
To caress my heart’s squalid, human mire.But my dreams! They always crumble to dust . . .
